Grammy-nominated artist Roseanna Vitro is a renowned vocalist specializing in Jazz. She has toured on every continent except Antarctica, representing the USA as a Jazz Ambassador for The US State Department, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center.
For this performance, Roseanna Vitro will be joined by special guests Houston Person (tenor sax), Danny Bacher (vocalist/alto), Allen Farnham (piano), Dean Johnson (bass) and Alvester Garnett (drums).
The 2022 Jazz & Blues in the Loft series are dedicated to Lee Boswell-May, longtime curator of Jazz in the Loft. Lee will always be affectionately remembered for helping to “keep the music alive” in South Orange.

Grammy-nominated artist Roseanna Vitro is a renowned vocalist specializing in Jazz. She has toured on every continent except Antarctica, representing the USA as a Jazz Ambassador for The US State Department, The Kennedy Center and Lincoln Center.
In 2021, Roseanna announced her latest musical adventure, “Sing a Song of Bird,” featuring the music of alto saxophone icon, Charlie Parker. It is her 15th release, and it showcases her passion for expanding the Jazz repertoire with newly crafted lyrics, appealing to all audiences, rising to #20 in the USA and around the world on Jazz radio. The recording featured three fellow, Bebop masters – vocalists Sheila Jordan, Bob Dorough and Marion Cowings; along with alto saxophonists, Gary Bartz and Mark Gross.
This is a soulful flight from an artist whose recordings include the Grammy Nominated: The Music of Randy Newman, Catchin’ Some Rays (The Music of Ray Charles), Clarity (Clare Fischer), Tropical Postcards (Brazilian), Tell Me the Truth (Southern blues), Passion Dance (McCoy Tyner) and Live at the Kennedy Center (Kenny Werner), each featuring a cast of master instrumentalists.
Her love of Jazz history led her to teaching vocal Jazz at New Jersey City University (1998-2017) and The New Jersey Performing Arts Center Jazz for Teens Program (2000-2013), plus “Voices in Jazz” an interview column of the Jazz vocalists in www.JazzTimes.com magazine.
Roseanna Vitro, resides in South Orange, New Jersey with husband Paul Wickliffe, an acclaimed recording engineer & published lyricist.
