A Holiday at Home with (Chosen) Family
Hosted by L Morgan Lee
NYCGMC, Youth Pride Chorus, and Tonewall are all cozied up for the holidays, and excited to celebrate with you, their chosen family! With new associate members from all over the US and Canada, NYCGMC is ready to kick the festive season into high gear, gathering comfort and joy from all corners of North America and bringing the holiday spirit right into your living room. Even in a year that keeps us from coming together in person, we rise up to rejoice, resilient and relentless in our pursuit of social justice, more determined than ever to sing in celebration. Let’s join them as they tell tales old and new, revel in camaraderie and community, and, of course, sing out loud, proud, and fabulous. Holiday-ing with NYCGMC is the merriest tradition of all!
About New York City Gay Men’s Chorus
New York City Gay Men’s Chorus (NYCGMC) is a pioneering voice for LGBTQ communities in NYC, the US and internationally; through music, they are fearless champions for LGBTQ rights and social justice. In their first ever virtual season and show, NYCGMC has welcomed over 100 new singers from across North America in our new Associates program, bringing our membership to nearly 400 talented singers of various ages, backgrounds, and experiences, across a spectrum of gender identity and sexual orientation. Join them for their spring season by finding out more at www.nycgmc.org. Their holiday show includes appearances by our Youth Pride Chorus (YPC) and Tonewall. YPC harnesses the power of the performing arts to engage LGBTQ young people and their allies ages 13 to 22 as agents of change. YPC fights homophobia and hate by boldly asserting – through music – the joy, diversity, strength, and pride of today’s youth. Tonewall is NYCGMC’s premier queer a cappella group, entertaining audiences with uplifting anthems, classic tunes, and sexy hits from today’s artists while promoting diversity, LGBTQA+ inclusion and social equality.
