The Ladies of Laughter Funny & Fabulous Tour includes winners and the best talent from the Ladies of Laughter annual national competition.

What started out as an annual videotape comedy competition in New York to honor comedian Mary Jo Wobker, who helped so many other female comedians break into the stand-up world, has grown in comedy clubs and venues around the tri-state area, including Atlantic City casinos, Caesars, Madison Square Garden, and now SOPAC!

Now known as “The Careerbuilder for Women in Comedy,” Ladies of Laughter boasts a roster of former competition participants that includes Amy Schumer, Tammy Pescatelli, and Big Bang Theory star Melissa Rauch, among many others.  In 2018, Carol Burnett accepted the first ever “Ladies of Laughter Spirit Award” established to honor those women who have inspired others to enter the competitive field of comedy.

Meet the Comedians

Regina DeCicco

In 2012, Regina was crowned the new winner in the Ladies of Laughter competition, thereby joining the ranks of the many fabulous female comics who came before her.

As the warm-up comedian on The View on ABC, Regina is there every day warming up the audience.  She recently appeared on Sherri Shepherd’s show Sherri as part of her “Laugh Lounge” segment. For the last three years, she has warmed up the audience for NBC’s Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting. ABC News sent Regina to Philadelphia to warm up both President Joe Biden’s and President Trump’s Town Halls, and she also went to New Hampshire to warm up the audience for the 2020 Democratic Presidential Debate for ABC News.  At night, you can find Regina performing at the top comedy clubs in New York City.

Regina made her television debut on AXS-TV’s Gotham Comedy Live. Her stand-up has been featured numerous times on FOX TV’s Laughs, and she appeared on The Dr. Oz Show as herself. She’s performed at colleges all over the United States, and she’s even done comedy in Shanghai, China. She’s been a part of the Nantucket Comedy Festival, the Laughing Skull Comedy Festival in Atlanta, Georgia, the Asheville Comedy Festival in Asheville, North Carolina and Boston’s Women in Comedy Festival. Before taking the plunge into stand-up comedy, Regina worked for many seasons behind the scenes at Saturday Night Live, and then Whoopi, Whoopi Goldberg’s NBC sitcom.

Regina’s original musical comedy premiered at Bucks County Playhouse in New Hope, Pennsylvania in November 2017.

Erin Maguire

Erin is a “Best Of” comedian in the Ladies of Laughter national competition.  Erin Maguire is a New York city based stand-up/actor/writer/podcast host/sharp witted firecracker. Her vivacious delivery and oddball take on seemingly mundane topics will have you laughing until the tears roll down your legs.

Erin’s debut comedy album BASELINE PRESENTABLE (produced by 800 Lb Gorilla) debuted at number one on iTunes comedy charts, where it stayed for the better part of a week, vying for top place with Weird Al Yankovic. She let him take first place because, as she puts it, ‘he just needs it more.’ BASELINE PRESENTABLE now racking up views on YouTube (where she hopes Weird Al won’t bother her)

Erin has been featured on SiriusXM, The Tamron Hall Show, Gotham Live, ESPN, and the Game Show Network, as well as writing for Comedy Central roasts. She was featured in the prestigious Lucille Ball Comedy Festival for the grand opening of the National Comedy Center, where she got to share the stage with people who have more fame and money… for now. She’s also been a finalist in the Boston Comedy Festival, won the Woodstock Comedy Festival, drank too much at Laugh Your Asheville Off, and was the first female to win Mohegan Sun’s ‘Last Comix Standing.’ This girl loves a festival. And, her comedy advice podcast, Dear Pod, spent time in the top 100 comedy pods.

Erin appears nightly at major clubs in NYC, as well as venues across the country, and one time at a benefit next to a chocolate fountain.

Carla Ulbrich

Carla Ulbrich is a guitar comic often compared to Tom Lehrer or Weird Al. She has performed her clever songs all over the U.S. and parts of England for colleges, comedy clubs, medical conventions, and company parties.

Carla’s 9 albums have been featured on the BBC, Dr. Demento, SiriusXM Comedy Radio, Pandora, USA Network, and NPR’s Morning Edition. She was also an extra in the movie “Sharknado 2.” She lives in Central New Jersey (what exit?!) with her husband and their 5-pound dog

Ruthy Ferrera

Ruthy Ferrera is a bi-lingual (English/Spanish) comic and the 2024 Newcomer National Champion of Ladies of Laughter. This Bla-tina (Black Latina) became the first comedian to open the brand-new Copacabana nightclub in NYC, appeared on the Howard Stern show, and has featured for legendary comedian Joey Vega who is long-time opener for Grammy Award-winning recording artist Marc Anthony. She has been selected to perform and compete at countless comedy festivals throughout the New York Tristate, and at the Latina Comedy Festival in Chicago. She performs regularly at NYC-area comedy clubs, casinos, and venues
