Alexis Morrast is a 17-year-old musical phenomenon. She’s a two-time winner of Amateur Night at the Apollo Theater in Harlem, NY and has already performed with top-flight musicians on stages around the world. Says the Coltrane Jazz Festival, “The voice, the song list, the stage presence are all astonishing.”
Since she began singing at the age of three she’s performed on many major stages including at the U.S. OPEN, NJPAC with Christian McBride and Dizzy’s Coca-Cola Club with Jazz legend Barry Harris. Her beautiful tone has been heard on the Millennium Stage of The Kennedy Center, Lincoln Center, abroad in Cape Town South Africa and Austria. She’s shared the stage with greats like Greg Phillinganes, Steve Jordan, Ray Chew, Lisa Fischer, Michael Feinstein and Tony Award-winner Christine Ebersole. This list only names a few leaving her humbled and striving for her best!
Alexis Morrast has been featured and interviewed in several articles for publications that include The Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, Forbes magazine and the front page of both local and international newspapers. She is not only a two-time Amateur Night winner at The Apollo but she also won “Showtime At The Apollo;” which aired on Fox TV, hosted by Steve Harvey! Desiring always to cultivate her art, she continues studying and working hard. She is the recipient of the 2017 Hot House Magazine“The Best Up and Coming Young Artist Award.”
A native of Newark, she is the youngest of six, and now resides in Plainfield, New Jersey.
