Al Gold & Andy Lackow

Al Gold has been described as a bandleader, guitarist, singer, artist, designer, writer, promoter and host; he’s all those things. From New Jersey to New Orleans to Chicago, west coast and back again, Al has had the opportunity to play and learn from many – beginning as a student of music in the early 1970s in Hartford, Connecticut and Chicago, Illinois.

Now in their eleventh year together as an extremely popular “Blues Jam House Band,” you can catch this group backing all manner of aspiring to touring professional Blues artists that pass through the doors of a music venue near you.

Andy Lackow & Mess Around is a North-Jersey based Blues band that also plays an eclectic mix of Blues/Rock, Roots/Rock and a little Country featuring Andy Lackow on guitar and vocals, Curtis Fowlkes on bass and Jim Hart on drums. The group has enjoyed entertaining crowds at various regional venues such as the Wonder Bar in Asbury Park, Trumpets Jazz Club in Montclair, Roxy & Dukes Road House in Dunellen, Crossroads in Garwood, Ruthie’s BBQ in Montclair, Hat City Kitchen in Orange, SuzyQue’s BBQ in West Orange, the Robin’s Nest in Linden, Great Notch Inn in Little Falls, The Blue Moon in South Amboy as well as outdoor festivals in South Orange, Maplewood, Fort Lee and numerous private events.
