The West Orange High School AileyDance Kids Residency Finale is a celebration of artistry, growth, and the power of dance to inspire and transform. Through a special partnership between the West Orange School District and the South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), students in the school’s dance program have immersed themselves in the renowned AileyDance Kids curriculum—an initiative of Alvin Ailey’s Arts In Education that fosters creativity, cultural awareness, and confidence through movement.

Under the guidance of Ailey Teaching Artist Za’eed Eure, these dedicated young dancers have explored the expressive language of dance, refining their technical skills while embracing the legacy of Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater. Their residency journey has been one of discipline, discovery, and artistic empowerment.

This culminating performance is more than a showcase—it is a reflection of the students’ hard work and a testament to the impact of arts education. Audiences will experience an inspiring program that includes warm-up demonstrations, ensemble works, and original choreography influenced by the dynamic style and storytelling of Ailey’s groundbreaking movement.

Join us as we celebrate these talented dancers and their fearless exploration of the arts. Witness their commitment, passion, and bold artistic expression as they bring Alvin Ailey’s vision to life—where young artists are encouraged to take creative risks, share their voices, and dance with purpose
