When you attend Forbidden Broadway, SOPAC and the American Heart Association invite you to Go Red For Women! Go Red For Women celebrates the energy, passion and power women have as they band together to bring awareness to heart disease and stroke. Wear something red - a red dress, tie, jacket, scarf, hat, blouse or shirt, or purchase a Go Red For Women pin at the performance to show your support!
CHECK IT OUT! - On Friday February 5 and Saturday February 6, SOPAC will glow red in support of the American Heart Association's National Wear Red Day for Women. Help SOPAC raise awareness for this heart healthy cause!
Winner of the 2006 Special Tony Award for Excellence in Theatre,
Forbidden Broadway is a collection of musical parodies of Broadway shows hatched by Gerard Alessandrini. With its first appearance in New York’s Upper West Side in 1982,
Forbidden Broadway, is now New York's longest running musical comedy revue. It is updated regularly, sparking repeat views of the performance by theatergoers looking for even more laughs. After national and international tours, Forbidden Broadway has become such a success that it has inspired other “Forbiddens”—spoofs of Hollywood, Vegas and more.
Apart from its hilarious parodies,
Forbidden Broadway also provides an entertaining informal history of American musical theater. It has also stood as a showcase for then-unknown actors who have since gone on to star on Broadway, as well as in movies and television, serving as one of the previews of tomorrow’s stars. Straight from New York,
Forbidden Broadway's performance at SOPAC stars the acclaimed off-Broadway cast! Viewers will enjoy a dose of theater history and lots of laughs, cementing
Forbidden Broadway’s reputation as one of funniest evenings Off-Broadway!
