cafe atmosphere in the SOPAC Loft. A casual, affordable and fun concert
series featuring up-and-coming musicians and seasoned professionals, the
"In the Loft" series offers an up-close perspective on today's blues
and jazz musicians.

Dave Keyes, a New York native, has been a mainstay on the NYC blues scene for over 20 years, and has played with some of the most important figures of blues, roots and folk music. This varied musical journey which started in the spiritual Southern sounds of blues, soul and classic boogie woogie, continues through his recent CD’s and his soulful live shows.
Dave has won the Blues Foundation’s International Blues Competition and his festival appearances include King Biscuit, Mississippi Valley, Chicago Blues Fest, 3 appearances at the Cognac Blues Fest and annual appearances at Lugano Switzerland’s Blues to Bop festival among many others. Dave has also appeared at the Queen City Blues fest legendary Arches solo piano stage.
Over the last 10 years, Keyes has performed regularly with Popa Chubby, the late Odetta, gospel artist Marie Knight and worked as a sideman with such roots-music masters as Bo Diddley, Sleepy LaBeef, Carl Weathersby, Pam Tillis, Gladys Knight, Chuck Berry and David Johansen. Dave was also conductor for the Broadway production of Smokey Joe’s Café and sings and plays on the Grammy Award-winning soundtrack album. The Dave Keyes Band was the house band for the nationally syndicated TV morning variety show “ The Ainsley Harriott Show” seen on NBC, five days a week and also writes music for television and the media through his company Crave Music which creates underscoring and songs that have appeared in numerous TV and film settings.
