An extraordinarily gifted jazz vocalist whose sincere and romantic interpretations of exceptional songs, Jane Monheit is a fan favorite in both the jazz and cabaret worlds. Monheit has garnered numerous accolades in the past decade. Her first album, Never Never Land, was voted top debut recording by the Jazz Journalist's Association and stayed on the Billboard Jazz chart for over a year. Dance Theatre of Harlem Ensemble returns to SOPAC for a third consecutive season on Sunday, November 20. Virginia Johnson, Artistic Director of the acclaimed dance school and company, speaks with Teisha Bader about the history and future of Dance Theatre of Harlem, as well as the Ensemble’s upcoming performance at SOPAC.

A Tony Award winner for his role in Pippin, Ben Vereen brings his acclaimed show Steppin’ Out with Ben Vereen to SOPAC on Saturday, October 22. Vereen has also appeared on Broadway in Wicked, Fosse, Chicago, Jesus Christ Superstar, Hair and I'm Not Rappaport. He has appeared in numerous television shows, including the Emmy Awarding-winning television mini-series "Roots." A musical autobiography of Vereen’s life in showbiz, Steppin’ Out highlights his stage career, American Standards, and tributes to his favorite entertainers.
